NUCLEUS
by Joshua Hubert
Nucleus is presented as a proposed upgrade to the historic landmark installation of the Necklace of Light that encompasses Lake Merritt. Nucleus uses a brand new technology that allows the simple replacement of the bulbs with full color LED bulbs that can send data along the original 2 wire system, sending both power and data along a single positive cable allowing each bulb to be individually controlled to create dynamic animations that flow and sparkle around the lake.

The Exquisite Corpse is a patchwork creature, made from an ever growing collection of eclectic body parts, each of which can be bolted to any other. It's like a build-your-own-sculpture kit! Threaded through the creature are luminous organ systems that send light racing through veins and nerves, winding from its heart and brain to the tips of its fingers, tails, and wings.

Lightsichord plays pentatonic scales, harmonious groups of notes used by ancient civilizations and modern musicians.
