We are looking for interested, qualified people to join our Volunteer Leadership Team. Click below to learn more about these exciting opportunities and to apply! UPDATE: Currently these positions are filled, but we are always looking for new candidates who can be trained, provide back up and potentially move into the positions when and if the current coordinators “term out” of their assignments.

Our current workday volunteer offerings for individuals and small groups are:

  • First Saturday of the month – Mediterranean Garden  - 9am – noon
  • Third* Saturday of the month – Sensory Garden – 9am – noon, *in April, it will be the 4th Saturday of the month
  • Weekday morning volunteer events (and other fun pastimes) will be announced on our Facebook page.

On gardens work days, please bring your gloves, and your favorite small garden tools if you have them, and a friend. We provide gloves and garden tools as well.

Tell the parking attendant at the kiosk you are with the Friends of the Garden at Lake Merritt and volunteering at the Gardens at Lake Merritt so you can park for free.
