Regional Health Education’s Volunteer Service Event at the Gardens at Lake Merritt

On Tuesday August 10th afternoon, a highly motivated group of volunteers from Kaiser Medical Group weeded and sheet mulched a bed in the Rhododendron Garden in the Gardens at Lake Merritt.  There was great support from Oakland Public works in providing tools, cardboard, mulch and making several trips to cart away the green waste.

BGLM 4th Sunday Educational Program

Our 4th Sunday program focuses creating bonsai for beginners, no experience necessary. Local bonsai experts will conduct a class beginning at 1PM in the Garden workroom. Sign up at the Bonsai Garden and join us if you can.

Volunteer For Outdoor California & Kaiser Permanente Corporate Earth Day April 24th

A group of Kaiser Permanente volunteers working at the Gardens on Saturday.  They were managed by Volunteer Outdoor California. This was a Corporate Earthday Event.  The volunteers sheet mulched several areas, weeded the Succulent Graden, and worked on clearing the area around the fence surrounding the garden. […]

Earth Day with HandsOn Bay Area

We had a great work day on Saturday, April 17 in the Torii Gate Garden with volunteers of all ages.

The group was comprised primarily of a team from PG&E.

The major focus of our work was beginning a new stone beach for the pond in the garden.

Volunteers also did some excavation to install some electric conduit, and general weeding.
