Chorisa speciosa at The Lakeside Palmetum

DSCF6029

The Chorisa speciosa at The Lakeside Palmetum is just on the edge of coming into full bloom, and here is one of the first photos of its beautiful flowers. Make sure you get by to see this fantastic tree in full bloom in the coming weeks, and if you can’t make it over to the gardens, check back here as we will be updating this post with more photos in the very near future.

10-07-09 Thanks to Bruce Cobbledick for letting me know that the tree is now if full bloom! I went by yesterday to take more photos of Chorisa speciosa for all to enjoy.

One of the great things that happens in the fall at the Gardens at Lake Merritt. This tree was propagated from a cutting of the Chorisa at the Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek. Thanks Albin.

The Chorisa is covered with blossoms now, a good time to visit.
